Southerners love to catalog, collect, and preserve those things that
give us a sense of belonging and tie us to one another, a particular place, or a certain time in our lives. While tradition plays an important role in our lives, change is ever-present in the mystical landscape that is the South.

As some images of familiar places remain with us, others slowly fade from view . . . but not from memory. In the words of William Faulkner,
“ . . . the past is not a diminishing road but instead, a huge meadow, which no winter ever quite touches.”
I seek to capture those scenes familiar in our everyday lives along with other places that we must look harder now to see, preserving these southern scenes for generations to come.
